Hi all,
Sorry its been a while - well I've taken Meratol every day (bar 1 when I wasn't very well) - for 30 days now. In between I had a week where I had really bad flu like symptoms - so kept of all medication on the worst day.
Since then my stomach hasn't been 100 per cent - and neither have I. Apart from the odd weekend I have eaten very healthily - and kept up my low fat low carb regime - although I haven't really monitored my food intake.
Because I've been feeling dodgy - and the weather is - well - awful - apart from usual housework - I have done NO exercise at all.
I have at this point wrongly assumed that Meratol would help me lose weight by blocking carbs, upping my metabolism - etc. But frankly I am disappointed that my weight loss is effectively half a pound. Had I been going completely mad - eating loads of bread, pasta, potatoes, butter, chocolate, alcohol - blah blah blah ... I would I suppose feel quite chuffed that I had - what you might say 'maintained' my weight.
The lowest my weight has dipped on Meratol so far is down to 13 stones 8lbs. A total loss of 4lbs. It went back up to almost 14 again - and then during my one week period of illness where I was off my food - it went down to 13 stones 9lbs.
Well with another two months to go - I will not be defeated - and go very much with the saying that if you keep getting the same result - you need to try something different. In this case I think the missing ingredient for me is not so much what I put into my mouth - but what I am not doing with my body.
This week I will be taking more exercise. I will go back to my twice daily stretching exercises and aim for 20 mins walking a day. I will also stop weighing myself every day - and go back to weighing once a week - Monday to Monday.
Back in a week - bye for now
Jules
