Welcome to my independent three month trial of Meratol

Hi I'm Jules,

Welcome to my independent three month trial of using Meratol to help me achieve my desired weight of 12 stones and 7lbs.

According to the suppliers of Meratol it's easy to lose a stone in one month - so here goes - I'm going to give it a blast.

My pledge to you dear weight lossee is to blog an honest day by day account of my progress.  I have nothing to gain by doing this ... (if you'll pardon the pun) but hope that this may provide anyone who reads my blog with inspiration.

I first heard of Meratol just before Christmas 2010 through an article in the Daily Express.  During the Christmas New Year break I ordered a three month supply of Meratol - which cost £75.00
A delay with the first consignment (due to Royal Mail having lost the entire batch sent out during this crucial weight loss period) - my consignment of Meratol didn't arrive until Friday 21 January 2011.

No matter ... I was heartened by the Meratol crew in Glasgow that a second consignment had been despatched and that it would be with me in a day or two.  And they were right.

I began my Meratol and Me weight loss journey the day after - Saturday 22 January.

So let the journey begin.

First of all - here are my statistics:

Date: 1 January 2011 (post Christmas binging I weighted exactly 14 stones)
Date: 22 January 2011 : 13.12 (a measly 2lb lost by going back to normal healthy eating)
Height: 5.7 (170cm)
Age last birthday October 2010 (48)
Medication: HRT (Premarin 1.75mg - Oestrogen only

A little bit of history ...
I've tried more diets than I care to remember since I was about 12 years old - including some weird and wonderful diets - like fruit only, the cabbage soup diet, Atkins, and the British Heart Foundation plan. More sensibly I have been a member of and a consultant for Slimming World, I've briefly attended Weight Watchers, and fiddled about with the Rosemary Connelly jeans diet.  My latest weight loss quest has been with Dietcare.  While weight loss was initially good - since October my sum weight loss is 6lbs.  Hats off to these professional organisations who do their best to help people lose weight.  Many of whom do extremely well and go on to maintain their hard earned figures - and some - like me - start with every good intention in the book ... but fail by around week 10 (that's the usual marker for me).

When I was 25 I reached almost 17 stones.  I lost 6 stones in six months using my own healthy eating plan and by walking for 2 hours per day.  Now I'm 48 years old and while I'm not back up to 17 stones ... my weight has fluctuated between 13.7 and 14.5 for the past few years - never getting below - or even near 13stones.

Anyway ... here goes - here is my first Meratol and Me weight loss blog.  Over and out for now.  x Jules
